Teak vs Aluminum for Outdoor Furniture

Teak is dense, oily and dimensionally stable. Left alone it weathers from honey to silver-grey; sealed or oiled, it holds its original tone with seasonal attention.

Powder-coated marine-grade aluminum is lighter, will not check or crack, and holds crisp architectural lines that timber cannot. It is the usual choice for exposed coastal sites and commercial installations.

Weight matters more than most buyers expect. Aluminum is easier to move for cleaning; teak is more likely to stay put in wind.

Many of the best terraces use both: a teak dining table with aluminum-framed seating, or the reverse.
