How to Choose a Modular Sectional

Start with seat depth. Anything over 40 inches invites lounging and needs back cushions to match; under 36 inches sits more upright and suits conversation and dining-adjacent rooms.

Seat height between 16 and 18 inches suits most people. Lower reads more relaxed but is harder to rise from.

Count modules against the room, not the floor plan drawing. Two three-seat units plus a corner will almost always be more flexible than a single fixed chaise configuration.

Ask about reconfiguration. A well-made modular system can be re-arranged when you move; a fixed sectional cannot.
